After being in a relationship for 2 and a half years. We had just decided to go our separate ways. I am so very grateful for the amazing memories that were created. I believe that different people come into your life for a reason, and he was one of them. So here are some ways to get over a breakup.
1. Stay positive!
It may be a little hard knowing that your special someone will not be around you. It was hard for me. Create an inviting environment for yourself. You deserve better! That someone is out there and you just need to be patient. Think of the good times and whats instore for your future.
2. Surround yourself with great friends.
Friends have been through it too! They are there for you and will listen to you. You can also be that friend too. Be a friend! People are attracted to others with positive energy.
3. Join a club!
There are lots of clubs around campus! Dixie's campus has about 75+ different clubs. I joined a club called SheClub, it starts on Thursday. Clubs can create friends and memories that could last a lifetime.
4. Date other people.
Personally, this was the hardest one for me. Getting out there and letting others know that you are single. Don't feel bad, if you don't date for a while after your breakup. Stay focused on yourself and what you want in a guy/girl.
5. Don't "check up" on him
Also a hard one to follow. You don't have to block him/her to be able to stay away, in fact show him/her of how happy you are. Some couples like to stay as friends although that could create problems. Jealousy can tear a person apart. If they have already found someone else, remind yourself that you are happy for them and in honestly...they are probably just a rebound... Oops!
Stay Strong, Stay Happy, & Stay Single!
And never forget about the memories! :)
